YOHANES 18:28-38a

“Jawab Yesus: “Kerajaan-Ku bukan dari dunia ini; jika kerajaan-Ku dari dunia ini, pasti hamba-hamba-Ku telah melawan, supaya Aku jangan diserahkan kepada orang Yahudi, akan tetapi kerajaan-Ku bukan dari sini” (ayat 36). Hanas tidak berkutik, ia tidak menemukan sesuatu untuk mempersalahkan Yesus, maka iapun mengirim Yesus kepada Kayafas. Dari Kayafas Yesus dibawa kepada Pilatus, gubernur Roma yang berkuasa diwilayah itu. Dan Yesuspun berhadapan secara pribadi dengan Pilatus yang segera menyelidiki perkaranya karena para penentang-Nya sendiri tidak berani memasuki gedung pengadilan karena takut menjadi najis oleh sebab mereka hendak makan Paskah. Sebenarnya Sanhedrin mempunyai kekuasaan untuk menjatuhkan hukuman mati, tapi dalam pelaksanaanya harus ada ijin dari pemerintahan Romawi yang berkuasa. Untuk itulah mereka menghadap Pilatus, yakni supaya mereka mendapat persetujuan pelaksanaan hukuman mati terhadap Yesus. Pembicaraan antara Yesus dan Pilatuspun berpusat pada permasalahan seputar hal raja dan kerajaan. Jika kerajaan dunia itu berbicara tentang kekuasaan dan politik, kerajaan rohani berbicara tentang kebenaran, itulah sebabnya Pilatus tidak mengerti apa itu kebenaran dan Yesuspun tidak bertindak sebagaimana lazimnya para raja dunia memerintah. Jika kita telah berpindah dari dalam gelap kepada terang, dari kerajaan dunia menjadi warga kerajaan Allah, maka sikap kita dalam menghadapi masalah tentunya berbeda dengan cara dunia. Kita tidak boleh ikut cara-cara dunia yang maunya cepat dalam mendapatkan apa yang diinginkan sehingga menempuh segala cara untuk mewujudkannya meskipun cara itu tidak benar. Inilah kehendak Allah atas kita yakni supaya kita tidak menjadi serupa dengan dunia ini dalam hal apapun (Roma 12:2). Maka jangan bertindak dengan cara-cara dunia. HIDUPLAH BERPADANAN DENGAN PANGGILAN KITA.

“Jesus replied:” My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom of this world, certainly my servants will be  against , so I do not handed over to the Jews, but my kingdom not from here “(verse 36 ). Annas does not move slightly, he did not find anything to condemn Jesus, then he began to send Jesus to Caiaphas. Jesus is taken from Caiaphas to Pilate, the Roman governor who ruled that area. And Jesus personally deal with Pilate who immediately investigated the case because his opponents did not dare enter the courthouse because of the fear of being defiled by because they want to eat the Passover. Actually, the Sanhedrin had the power to impose the death penalty, but in its implementation must have permission from the powerful Roman government. For those that Pilate, namely that they be approved the execution of Jesus. Discussion between Jesus and Pilate centered around the problems that the king and kingdom. If the kingdoms of the world that talk about power and politics, talking about the spiritual kingdom of truth, which is why Pilate did not understand what is truth and Jesus did not act as a rule of the kings ruled the world. If we have moved from the dark to light, from the kingdoms of the world being a citizen of the kingdom of God, then our attitude in facing the problem of course different from the ways of the world. We could not go the ways of the world who wants to fast in getting what you want, so take everything they can to make it happen even though I was not true. This is the will of God for us so that we can not be conformed to this world in any respect (Romans 12:2). So do not act in the ways of the world. LIVE IN ACCORDINGLY WITH OUR CALLS.
