Bukan Karena Melihat ( Because not See )

YOHANES 20:24-29

“Kata Yesus kepadanya: “Karena engkau telah melihat Aku, maka engkau percaya. Berbahagia lah mereka yang tidak melihat, namun percaya” (ayat 29). Tomas yang disebut Didimus atau si kembar, rupanya melewatkan peristiwa pertemuan Yesus yang pertama dengan murid-murid-Nya dan ia hanya mendapat beritanya saja. Ia tidak dapat mempercayainya sebelum ia sendiri membuktikan dengan mencucukkan jarinya pada bekas paku dan lambung Yesus. Maka demikian lah, delapan hari kemudian ketika semua murid berkumpul bersama, Yesus kembali datang dan berdiri ditengah-tengah mereka. Kedatangan-Nya saat itu juga disertai dengan tantangan secara pribadi kepada Tomas untuk membuktikan ucapannya. Sesuai dengan ketidakpercayaan dan bukti yang diinginkannya, disitulah tantangan dinyatakan dan Tomas tidak bisa berbicara apa-apa selain daripada pengakuan yang keluar dari bibirnya bahwa Dialah Tuhan dan Allahnya. Tomas tidak bisa seperti teman-temannya yang sekalipun tidak melihat waktu itu, namun percaya bahwa Yesus telah bangkit, tapi ia membutuhkan bukti. Padahal lebih berbahagia mereka yang tidak melihat namun percaya. Iman seperti murid-murid itulah yang Tuhan juga kehendaki dalam hidup kita, benar-benar yakin sekalipun tidak melihat. Inilah iman yang diberkati yang pada akhirnya akan mendatangkan kebahagiaan. Jika kita sekalipun belum pernah melihat Dia namun percaya dan mengasihi-Nya, kegembiraan karena sukacita yang mulia dan yang tidak terkatakan menjadi bagian hidup kita karena dengan iman seperti itu, kita mencapai tujuan iman, yakni keselamatan jiwa (1 Petrus 1:8). Jika kita tidak percaya, untuk apa kita beribadah kepada-Nya ?.

HIDUP KITA ADALAH HIDUP KARENA PERCAYA DAN BUKAN KARENA MELIHAT.

JOHN 20:24-29

“Jesus said to him:” Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Happy is they who have not seen and yet have believed “(verse 29). Thomas called Didimus or the twins, apparently missed the event the first meeting of Jesus with His disciples  and he only just got the news. He could not believe it until he proves himself by putting his finger on the nail marks and the stomach of Jesus. So that is, eight days later when all the disciples gathered together, Jesus again came and stood among them. His arrival was also accompanied by a personal challenge to Thomas to prove his words. In accordance with the distrust and the evidence he wanted, that is where the challenge is expressed and Thomas could not say anything other than the recognition that came out of his mouth that He is Lord and his God. Thomas could not be like his friends who even do not see the time, but believes that Jesus is risen, but he needed proof. Happier when they are not seen and yet have believed. Faith as the disciples that God also wants in our lives, really believe that not even see. This is a blessed faith which ultimately will bring happiness. If we have not even seen Him yet believe and love Him, the joy of the glorious joy unspeakable and became part of our lives because of such faith, we reach the goal of faith, the salvation of souls (1 Peter 1:8). If we do not believe, for what we worship Him?.

LIFE IS LIFE BECAUSE WE BELIEVE IN AND NOT BECAUSE OF SEEING.
