KISAH RASUL 5:1-11

“Tetapi Petrus berkata: “Ananias, mengapa hatimu dikuasai iblis, sehingga engkau mendustai Roh Kudus dan menahan sebagian dari hasil penjualan tanah itu ?” (ayat 3). Sepasang suami isteri yang bernama Ananias dan istrinya, Safira, melakukan hal yang sama seperti yang diperbuat oleh jemaat yang mampu lainnya, mereka menjual sebidang tanah dan menyerahkan hasilnya kepada rasul-rasul. Tapi ternyata apa yang mereka lakukan itu hanya merupakan emosi jiwa, mau dilihat seperti yang lain-nya sedang hati mereka sendiri tidak benar-benar rela. Bahkan mereka tidak sadar kalau hati mereka sudah dikuasai oleh iblis, buktinya mereka sepakat untuk menahan sebagian dari hasil penjualan tanah itu dan menyimpannya bagi diri sendiri. Mereka tidak mau jujur kepada rasul-rasul mengenai hasil tanah itu. Perbuatan mereka itu sama halnya dengan mendustai Roh Kudus. Fatal akibat yang harus mereka tanggung, bahkan harus dibayar dengan nyawa mereka sendiri. Peristiwa itu membuat ketaku-tan seluruh jemaat dan juga semua orang yang mendengar hal itu. Peristiwa itu hendaknya juga men-jadi pelajaran bagi kita untuk tidak mencobai Roh Kudus, bukan hanya dalam hal memberi, tapi dalam seluruh aspek kehidupan. Allah tidak menuntut untuk kita memberi persembahan secara materi, untuk itu hendaknya persembahan yang kita bawa, jangan dilakukan karena terpaksa ataupun dipaksa. Periksa dulu hati kita sebelum mempersembahkan. Sekecil apapun yang dapat kita persembahkan jika dilakukan dengan tulus dan ikhlas, berkenan dihadapan Tuhan. Sebaliknya sekalipun seluruh milik kita persembahkan tapi dengan tidak rela hati, hanya akan menghasilkan pujian dari manusia tapi tidak dikenan Tuhan. Berilah persembahan dengan segala kerelaan hati, sebab Allah mengasihi orang yang memberi dengan sukacita (2 Korintus 9:7). JUJURLAH DALAM PERSEMBAHANMU.

Acts 5:1-11

“But Peter said:” Ananias, why the devil filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and kept a portion of the land sale? “(verse 3). A husband and wife named Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, do the same thing as that done by other churches capable, they sold a plot of land and gave the proceeds to the apostles. But it was what they did was just an emotional soul, not seen another like it were their own hearts are not really willing. Even they do not realize that their hearts are ruled by the devil, the evidence they agreed to hold a portion of the proceeds and keep the land for themselves. They do not want to be honest with the apostles about the results of that land. Their deeds as well as lied to the Holy Spirit. Fatal consequences they must, even to pay with their own lives. The incident to scare the whole congregation and also all who hear it. The incident should also become a lesson for us not to tempt the Holy Spirit, not only in terms of giving, but in all aspects of life. God does not require us to give offerings to the material, for the offerings that we should take, do not do it because it was forced or coerced. Check first before you dedicate our hearts. Matter how small we can offer if it is done with sincere and honest, pleasing before God. Conversely though we offer the entire property but with no hearts willing, will only result in praise of the man but not pleasing before God. Give gifts with great eagerness, for God loves those who give with joy (2 Corinthians 9:7).
