KISAH RASUL 4:1-22

“Dan keselamatan tidak ada di dalam siapapun juga selain didalam Dia, sebab dibawah kolong langit ini tidak ada nama lain yang diberikan kepada manusia yang olehnya kita dapat diselamatkan” (ayat 12). Sebagian besar anggota Sanhedrin adalah mahzab Saduki, jadi tidaklah mengherankan jika Petrus dan Yohanes didatangi oleh imam-imam dan kepala pengawal Bait Suci yang kemudian menangkap mereka, oleh karena mereka mengajarkan bahwa didalam nama Yesus ada kebangkitan dari antara orang mati, sementara orang Saduki sendiri tidak percaya adanya kebangkitan orang mati. Dengan berani kedua rasul itu mengatakan bahwa oleh kuasa didalam nama Yesus orang Nazaret yang telah disalibkan itu, orang lumpuh tersebut disembuh kan. Bahkan dengan lebih berani lagi mereka mengata-kan bahwa keselamatan hanya ada didalam namaYesus Kristus. Dan sekalipun mereka dipaksa untuk tidak lagi berbicara dan mengajar didalam nama Yesus, hal itu tidaklah menghentikan mereka sebab rasul-rasul itu memilih untuk lebih taat kepada Allah daripada taat kepada manusia. Sanhedrin heran melihat keberanian rasul rasul tersebut dan akhirnya mereka tidak memiliki alasan untuk menahan rasul-rasul itu lebih lama lagi. Seberapa besar keyakinan kita akan kuasa didalam nama Yesus, akan nam-pak nyata saat kita menghadapi saat-saat yang tidak menguntungkan, atau bahkan membahayakan. Jika kita yakin benar bahwa didalam nama Yesus ada kuasa yang sangat besar, kita tidak akan ragu berseru kepada nama itu untuk diselamatkan dari apapun juga. Allah telah mengaruniakan kepada-Nya nama diatas segala nama, supaya didalam nama Yesus bertekuk lutut segala yang ada dilangit dan dibumi dan segala lidah mengaku Yesus Kristus adalah Tuhan (Filipi 2:9-11).

SIAPA BERSERU KEPADA NAMA TUHAN AKAN DISELAMATKAN.

Acts 4:1-22

“Neither is there salvation in any other in Him, because under under heaven, there is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved” (verse 12). Most of the members of the Sanhedrin were Sadducees mahzab, so it is not surprising that Peter and John approached by the priests and temple guards chief who later arrested them, because they taught that in the name of Jesus the resurrection from the dead, while the Sadducees did not believe there is a resurrection of the dead. The apostles boldly said that by the power in the name of Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified, the lame are healed. Even more boldly again they say that there is only salvation in the name of Jesus Christ. And even if they are forced to no longer speak and teach in the name of Jesus, it does not stop them because the apostles chose to obey God rather than obedience to men. The Sanhedrin was surprised to see the courage these messengers and finally they have no reason to hold the apostles any longer. How much will the power of our belief in Jesus’ name, will be apparent when we face moments that are not profitable, or even dangerous. If we are convinced that in the name of Jesus is a very big power, we would not hesitate to call upon the name to be saved from anything. God has bestowed on Him the name above every name, that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow the heavens and the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11).
