KISAH RASUL 11:1-18

“Jadi jika Allah memberikan karunia-Nya kepada mereka sama seperti kepada kita waktu kita mulai percaya Yesus Kristus, bagaimanakah mungkin aku mencegah Dia ?” (ayat 17). Pelayanan Petrus di tengah-tengah orang-orang tidak bersunat bukannya tanpa tantangan, setelah ia kembali ke Yerusa-lem, golongan orang bersunat memprotes tindakannya. Petrus ada dijalan Tuhan, ia tidak menjadi takut karena pelayanannya diprotes dan iapun juga tidak mempersiapkan jawabannya sebelumnya,jawaban itu Allah karuniakan saat itu juga. Kepada mereka yang mempertanyakan pelayanannya, ia mencerita-kan dengan terperinci bagaimana pelayanan itu terjadi dan hasilnya. Tidak mungkin bagi Petrus untuk meng halangi kuasa Allah dinyatakan kepada bangsa lain. Sebagaimana mereka juga telah mendapat karunia dari Allah, maka Allahpun juga berkuasa untuk memberikan apa yang Ia anggap baik kepada bangsa lain sesuai dengan apa yang Yesus sendiri pernah katakan kepada mereka bahwa baptisan Roh itu adalah kewenangan Allah sendiri. Merekapun akhirnya menyadari bahwa Allah berkuasa untuk melimpahkan kasih karunia-Nya kepada siapa saja yang Ia kehendaki. Siapa yang dapat mengatur Roh Tuhan, atau memberi petunjuk kepada-Nya sebagai penasihat ? Semua karena anugerah-Nya jika kita menerima segala sesuatu yang baik termasuk karunia Roh Kudus-Nya. Jangan berbangga diri dengan menganggap itu semua terjadi karena kebaikan kita. Jadi itu semua tidak tergantung pada kehendak atau usaha seorang, tapi karena kemurahan-Nya, sebab Ia menaruh belas kasihan dan bermurah hati kepada siapa saja yang Ia kehendaki (Roma 9:15-16). Maka jangan menaruh rasa iri hati ketika melihat anugerah Allah dinyatakan kepada seorang yang menurut anggapan kita tidak layak menerimanya.

HIS DISCRETION
Acts 11:1-18
“So if God gives His gifts to them just like us when we begin to believe in Jesus Christ, how can I stop him?” (Verse 17). Peter’s ministry in the midst of the people are not circumcised is not without its challenges, after he returned to Jerusalem, the circumcised group protested his actions. Peter is the way of God, he was not afraid because of the protests and leads the ministry did not prepare earlier answer, the answer is God bestowed on the spot. To those who questioned his ministry, he told in detail how it happened and the service results. It is impossible for Peter to block the power of God revealed to the Gentiles. As they also have a gift from God, then God also has power to give her what he thought best for other nations in accordance with what Jesus himself had told them that the baptism of the Spirit is God’s own authority. And they finally realize that God is able to bestow His grace to whoever He wills. Who can regulate the Spirit of God, or give instructions to him as an adviser? All because of His grace if we accept the good things including the gift of His Holy Spirit. Do not flatter yourself by assuming that all happened because of our goodness. So it all does not depend on the will or a business, but because of His mercy, for He is merciful and generous to those who He wills (Romans 9:15-16). So do not put a sense of envy when he saw the grace of God revealed to an assumption which we do not deserve it.
