1 PETRUS 2:11-17

“Hiduplah sebagai orang merdeka dan bukan seperti mereka yang menyalahgunakan kemerdekaan itu untuk menyelubungi kejahatan-kejahatan mereka, tetapi hiduplah sebagai hamba Allah” (ayat 16). Hidup sebagai perantau harus mawas diri dan bijaksana. Untuk itu jugalah rasul Petrus menasehatkan kepada para perantau yang di wilayah Asia supaya menjauhkan diri dari keinginan-keinginan daging yang ber juang melawan jiwa. Memperhatikan dengan saksama bagaimana mereka hidup akan menghindarkan diri dari kesulitan apabila ada yang memfitnah. Dan untuk itu perbuatan baiklah yang harus ditonjolkan. Sikap tunduk kepada pemerintah juga sangat penting, sebab mereka sesungguhnya juga adalah wakil-wakil Allah di dunia. Dengan model hidup yang demikian menutup celah bagi musuh untuk berbuat jahat dan bahkan membungkam kepicikan mereka. Itulah sikap hidup sebagai hamba Allah. Sebagai hamba Allah mereka adalah orang merdeka, tapi kemerdekaan itu bukan kesempatan dan alasan untuk menyelubungi dosa dan kejahatan. Tanda nyata hidup seorang hamba adalah berusaha untuk menyenangkan hati tuannya. Karena Kristus telah memerdekakan kita dari perbudakan dosa, maka kitapun benar-benar merdeka. Tapi kemerdekaan itu tetap harus dipertanggungjawabkan dengan hidup menjadi hamba-Nya. Dan jika kita adalah hambaNya, maka fokus hidup kita adalah untuk menyenangkan hati-Nya dan bukan untuk mencari kepuasan atau kesenangan diri sendiri, apalagi dengan perbuatan jahat yang diselubungi oleh kebebasan atau kemerdekaan. Kita memang dipanggil untuk merdeka, tapi jangan mempergunakan kemerdekaan itu sebagai kesempatan untuk hidup dalam dosa, tapi layanilah satu dengan yang lain oleh kasih  (Galatia 5:13).

DIMANA ADA ROH ALLAH DISITU ADA KEMERDEKAAN.

1 PETER 2:11-17

“Live as free people and not like those who abuse the freedom it to cloak their crimes, but live as servants of God” (verse 16). Living as a foreigner must introspective and thoughtful. For that also the apostle Peter advised to the nomads who in the Asian region in order to distance themselves from the desires of the flesh which was struggling against the soul. Notice carefully how they live will shy away from trouble if there is a slander. And for that the good deeds should be highlighted. Subservience to the government is also very important, because they actually also are representatives of God on earth. With such a model life to close the gap for the enemy to do evil and even silencing their pettiness. That attitude to life as a servant of God. As servants of God they are free, but independence was not an opportunity and reason to cloak sin and evil. Real sign of life of a servant is trying to please his master. Because Christ has freed us from slavery to sin, then we too free indeed. But the independence that still must be accounted for by life becomes his servant. And if we are His servants, then the focus of our lives is to please Him and not to seek self-satisfaction or pleasure, let alone with his evil deeds are covered by freedom or independence. We are called to freedom, but do not use liberty as an opportunity to live in sin, but serve one another by love (Galatians 5:13).
WHERE IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD THERE IS LIBERTY.
